The Power of Praying With the Word of God

The Power of Praying With the Word of God

The Word of God Is Alive and Powerful

If we only knew the power that is released when we pray with the word of God. Hebrews 4:12 says: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword.” This verse shows us something very important. It let’s us know that the Word of God is alive and it carries power. When the Word of God is spoken, declared, or prayed, something spiritual is happening.

Many Christians read the Bible, but fewer realize the power that is released when we pray using the Word of God itself. When you take what God has already spoken and bring it back to Him in prayer, you are aligning your prayer with His will.

You are not just speaking your own thoughts anymore. You are speaking God’s Word.

And God always stands behind His Word.

If we truly understood the authority that is in Scripture, we would pray with it much more often. It is good to talk to the God like a father and like a friend and to pour out our hearts before Him. But let’s never forget the power the is released when we pray the promises of God.

When you pray what God has already said, your prayer carries a different kind of authority.

Angels Respond to the Word of God

The Bible also teaches that angels respond to God’s Word.

Psalm 103:20 says: “Bless the Lord, you his angels, who excel in strength, who do his word, obeying the voice of his word.”

Angels are powerful spiritual beings created by God. According to Scripture, they listen for and carry out God’s commands. Their assignment is to serve God and carry out His purposes.

When believers pray with the Word of God, they are speaking something that heaven already recognizes and honors.

That is why many Christians believe that when we pray Scripture, we are releasing spiritual activity that we cannot see with our natural eyes.

We Christians actually have a whole arsenal of spiritual weapons available to us. God has given us His Word, prayer, faith, and the help of heaven itself. Yet many believers are not using these tools the way they could.

Sometimes we wait until we fully understand everything with our mind and we try to use logic before we act. But that is not how the Kingdom of God works.

God requires that we only believe. There are so many Bible verses that tell us to ”believe” or ”have faith”.

You do not need to understand the ways of God with human logic before you begin praying the Word of God. In fact, our minds are limited. We could never fully comprehend exactly how the spiritual world operates.

That is why throughout the Bible God repeats the same message again and again: have faith.

Jesus often said things like “Do not be afraid” and “Only believe.”When we pray His Word with faith, we are trusting that He will do what He has promised.

Even if we cannot see what is happening in the spiritual realm, God is still at work.

And His Word never returns empty. Start praying with the Word of God and you will see a victory!
