Intercessory Prayers are serious business! The power of intercessory prayer is real, and the more serious my prayer life gets, the more I see how prayer shifts and impacts things, not only in our own lives (family, church, community etc.) but also globally in the world. Our prayers to God are not restricted by geography or distance and that is why you can shift and impact things in the world through intercessory prayers. God is omnipresent and when we pray for others, even people we have never met, God listens and answers. There is no need to figure out how it happens, all you need to do is trust that God is more than able. 
 
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20  

Two days ago, I started praying again for the release of people who have been kidnapped, who are being abused and oppressed, and every time I pray this prayer, I also pray that the wicked who are abusing the innocent are being caught and brought to justice. 

The very next day, I see a headline in CNN that a satanic international child trafficking ring who was doing evil things against children was caught. This is not a coincidence; but I have prayed for this many times before, and it has happened several times now where a day or two later I see a news headline that an organization involved in these things has been busted. I am always amazed when this happens because it feels like God is showing me how fast our prayers can push back darkness. I am not saying it is only because of my own intercessory prayers that the evildoers have been caught, because I know that thousands of other people are also praying for the same thing. But God made sure I see this headline because this is His way of telling me to keep praying, and that my prayers are powerful and effective and that He answers them. God moves on behalf of the helpless and the innocent, but the key is that we pray with passion and faith and without doubting.  
 
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6 
 
Our intercessory prayers have a real impact in the spiritual and in the natural world! 

If anyone tells you being a Christian is boring, please let them know that it is in fact the opposite. To be a follower of Christ is the most adventurous journey. To see intercessory prayers answered is very rewarding, and it just makes you want to pray even more. 
 
Why did God show me the headline the very next day? 
God encourages us in ways like this, just to remind us that our prayers are powerful and effective and that He is listening and He answers.  
 
The sad thing is that so many Christians have no understanding about the kind of power that God has given us through prayer. We can even ask for the angels to assist us! What else do we want? We are so blessed and privileged as sons and daughters of the most High God.  
 
Why don’t you join me in praying in this matter? Here are the two main verses I use when I pray for the captives, oppressed and abused to be set free and for evildoers to get caught:  

Psalm 103:6 “The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.” 

Luke 12:2 “There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed or hidden that will not be made known.”
